2021

Morgan Petermann ‘21

Morgan Petermann ‘21 is an Agricultural Systems Management major, Minoring in Business, from Hurst, Texas. He is the son of Sally Petermann ’82 and Thomas Petermann. Morgan is a member of Squadron 17.

Morgan has served as Athletic Sergeant for his outfit as well as the Corps Athletic Sergeant. Currently, he serves as the Executive Officer of Squadron 17. Off the Quad, Morgan has attended a nine-week discipleship and leadership project called Kaleo in Panama City Beach, Florida. He spent time as a student leader with Student Mobilization, an on-campus ministry that promotes discipleship in student organizations. The summer after his sophomore year, Morgan accepted an opportunity to return to Florida as a small group leader where he led two college students through Biblical discussions, evangelism training, and attended various leadership seminars with other small group leaders.

After he graduates in December 2021, Morgan hopes to continue to impact the lives of others in the workforce with the skills he’s gained from his time as a student and cadet. We are proud of Morgan and wish him the best of luck!! Gig ‘em, and God Bless!

Genesis Hatten ’21

Genesis Hatten ’21 is a sociology major from San Antonio, Texas.  She is the daughter of Thomas and Laura Hatten.

“I knew that Texas A&M was the place for me after watching my brother go through the Corps of Cadets and commission into the Air Force in 2014,” Genesis said. “I was amazed by the tradition and spirit of the campus that you could see everywhere you went.”

During her time at Texas A&M, Genesis has been active on and off the Quad. She has participated in MSC Hospitality and Rudders Rangers. During her junior year, Genesis served on the First Brigade Staff as the Training Sergeant, and this year, she is serving as the Second Brigade Executive Officer.

“I am so grateful for all of the opportunities I have had to grow as an individual and challenge myself to become a better leader,” Genesis said.

Genesis will graduate in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology and commission into the United States Army with hopes of branching into the Medical Service Corps or Adjutant General Corps.

We are incredibly proud of Genesis’ hard work as a cadet and student, and we are  confident that she will be successful in all of her future endeavors. Best wishes to Genesis Hatten!

Ross Beazley ’21

Ross Beazley ‘21 is an Industrial Distribution Major, with a Minor in Business, from Southlake, Texas. Ross is the son of Trey Beazley ’84 and Beth Beazley. He is originally a member of B-Company in the Aggie Band, but currently serves as the Texas Aggie Band Combined Band Commander. He is also a member of the 2020-2021 Bugle Rank.

Ross is an active member of the Aggieland Orchestra, Ross Volunteer Company, O.R. Simpson Honor Society, Nichols’ Rising Leadership Conference, PAID (Professional Association for Industrial Distribution), and several other on-campus organizations. Off the campus, Ross enjoys going to church to worship God with his buddies. As a 4th generation Aggie, Ross says he is “humbled everyday by the opportunity to wake up next to the most incredible individuals on campus.”

Ross is currently unsure of his plans after graduating in May 2021, but he hopes to go to graduate school to continue his education and possibly pursue a career in healthcare administration. We are incredibly proud of Ross and thankful for his dedication to the Corps and the Aggie Band. Best wishes to Ross for a future filled with success and happiness! God Bless, Ross!

Carlos Cancholas ‘21

Carlos Cancholas ‘21 is an International Studies major, with a double-minor in Russian and Military Studies from Fort Worth, Texas. Carlos is the son of Alicia and Silverio Canchola, and is a member of Company N-1.

On the Quad, Carlos has been involved with the Fish Drill Team, Corps Color Guard, Outfit BBQ Team, Parsons Mounted Cavalry, and 2nd Regiment Staff. He is currently serving as the 2nd Regiment Executive Officer. Off the Quad, Carlos is the Liberal Arts Student Council treasurer.

Following graduation in May 2021, Carlos plans to attend Marine Corps Officer Candidate School and then commission as a Marine Corps officer. We are proud of Carlos and his dedication to excellence in all that he does. We wish him the best of luck and are confident in his future success. Good luck and Semper Fi!, Carlos!

Kyrie Garlic ’21

Kyrie Garlic ‘21 is an English and Philosophy major from Weslaco, Texas, and is the daughter of John and Marla Garlic.

Kyrie began her Corps experience in Company S-1, serving as a Fire Team Leader, Platoon Sergeant, and Scholastics Sergeant over the past three years. During her sophomore year, she attended the Nichols Rising Leadership Conference and was awarded the prestigious Harold Kupfer Scholarship.  In her final semester at Texas A&M, Kyrie is serving as the Career Readiness Officer for Company G-2.

Kyrie is a member of the Maroon & White Leadership Society and the Texas A&M Consulting Club. She also has a part-time job as a Level III-certified writing consultant at the University Writing Center, where she helps students across a wide variety of disciplines and degree programs develop their written communication skills. She spent her junior year working on an undergraduate creative thesis through the Aggie Creative Collective and LAUNCH Undergraduate Research. Kyrie was selected to attend the 2020 Richard Macksey National Undergraduate Research Symposium in April and received the LAUNCH Outstanding Thesis Award in the Creative Works category for the 2019–2020 school year. She has since been selected to participate in the Academy of Undergraduate Researchers Across Texas (AURATX), through which she has had the opportunity to connect with undergraduate researchers from Texas A&M and the University of Texas.

Kyrie will finish her academic coursework this December and hopes to participate in Texas A&M’s Public Policy Internship Program at the Texas State Capitol in the spring. Starting in August of 2021, she plans to teach either high school Mathematics or English through Teach For America in the Greater Houston Area. She is also an aspiring novelist and hopes to publish the manuscript she wrote for her undergraduate research in the next few years.

Kyrie has been an extremely successful cadet and student and represents the very best of our Corps. She will no doubt continue to impact others as she continues her journey to become a teacher and novelist. We are all proud of Kyrie and wish her continued success in all of her future endeavors.
