Currently, more than 98% of our eligible cadets have a Corps scholarship. To be considered for a Corps of Cadets scholarship, you must complete the university scholarship application through the Common Application. Corps of Cadets Scholarships Frequently Asked Questions
Corps Scholarships are University Scholarships reserved for members of the Corps of Cadets. Corps Scholarships range in value from $1,000 per year to $19,000 per year. Applications for high-value scholarships are accepted by invitation only based on the scholarship selection criteria.
To be considered for a Corps Scholarship during the awarding period (February–August), incoming freshmen cadets must complete and submit the scholarship application portion of the admissions application by the university deadline. They must also notify the Corps Recruiting Office that they will join the Corps of Cadets.

Transfer students are reviewed for scholarships separately in July or January prior to the semester they are entering the Corps, using transfer admissions application which takes into consideration college accomplishments.
Current TAMU students will be reviewed using the University Scholarship Application for Continuing Students and their TAMU academic record.

Yes, all members of the Corps of Cadets are eligible for Corps of Cadets scholarships.
No, you do not – The Corps Scholarship Committee uses the same application that is used by the university. However, you must notify the Corps Recruiting Office that you will be joining the Corps of Cadets.
Corps Scholarships are awarded based on merit and/or financial need.
For merit-based awards, a holistic review of the application (academic record and rigor, extra-curricular activities, awards, leadership positions, community service, etc.) is used.
To be considered for a scholarship based on financial need, you must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
It is highly encouraged to complete the FAFSA annually, regardless of family income.
No, but some Corps scholarships have recipient preferences, and the Corps Scholarship Committee reviews all applications to match qualified students with these scholarships.
Corps scholarship offer notifications will begin in February and continue through August. These notifications are sent via U.S. Mail from the University Scholarships and Financial Aid office and/or an e-mail from the Corps Scholarship Office. Your financial aid offer letter is also available in your Financial Aid Portal.
Corps scholarship funds are credited to your university student account approximately 10 days before classes start each semester if you are enrolled full-time (12 hours).
Awards might not be credited to your university student account for a multitude of reasons, and Aggie One Stop can tell you the exact reason why. Such as:
- You have not accepted the scholarship in your Financial Aid Portal
- You are not enrolled full-time
- You are not meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements
- You are over awarded
- You have holds on your account
- You have not completed required actions in your Financial Aid Portal
You may apply for additional scholarships using our internal scholarship application once classes start each semester.
All cadets are highly encouraged to complete University Scholarship Application for Continuing Students which opens from October 15 to February 1 each year at uwide.tamu.edu to be considered for new or additional scholarships for the following academic year.
When joining the Corps of Cadets you are required to acknowledge an agreement outlining the following requirements to keep your Corps Scholarship:
- Remain a member in good standing in the Corps of Cadets.
- Enroll in a minimum of 12 hours per semester and pass a minimum of 10 hours per semester at Texas A&M (Blinn Team excepted). This may be waived on a case-by-case basis by the Commandant.
- Maintain a minimum overall grade point ratio (GPR):
- o 2.3 for $1,000+ Scholarships
- o 2.5 for $2,000+ Scholarships
- o 3.0 for $4,000+ Scholarships
- o 3.2 for high value Scholarships
- At the beginning of the sophomore year have completed a minimum of 30 hours, and at the beginning of the senior year have completed a minimum of 75 hours.
- Write a “Thank You Letter” to your scholarship donor(s) each semester. Specific instructions and deadlines are provided at the start of each semester.
- Allow academic progress to be sent to the donor(s) of your scholarship each semester.
- Allow contact information such as your phone number and e-mail address to be sent to your donor(s).
- Participate in Corps or Donor sponsored social events in honor of your scholarship donor(s).
You must remain in the Corps to receive a Corps scholarship. If you leave the Corps of Cadets at any time during the semester, all your Corps scholarships will be canceled and any amount credited to your account will come due. If you leave the Corps after the 20th class day, you are allowed seven days to file an appeal to explain any extenuating circumstances. If the appeal is granted, your canceled scholarships will be reinstated for the current semester only.
A student must be lawfully present in the United States to receive a tuition waiver at Texas A&M University. All members of the Corps of Cadets who are not Texas residents, are lawfully present, and are in good standing with the University and the Corps of Cadets receive a non-resident tuition waiver. This waiver is applied to your account prior to the start of the semester.

Military / ROTC Scholarship Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, and the Corps of Cadets offers the Patriot Scholarship to supplement the ROTC Scholarship if you are receiving ROTC tuition and fees benefits. It guarantees your required housing and meal expenses are covered through a combination of federal, state, university, and other reported aid, excluding loans. Contact the ROTC unit for questions about ROTC scholarships.
There is not a separate application for the Patriot Scholarship. Eligible ROTC Scholarship recipients are reviewed for award after the ROTC unit notifies the Corps Scholarship Office that the ROTC scholarship has been activated.
