Bradford W. Tippett, Colonel, USMC

Professor of Naval Science

Colonel Tippett is a native of San Antonio, Texas.  He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1995 with Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and was subsequently commissioned via the Platoon Leaders Class Program.  His command assignments include Platoon Commander, 2d Battalion, 2d Marine Regiment; Company Commander, 3d Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment; Commanding Officer, 3d Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment; and Commanding Officer, School of Infantry-East.  Additional assignments in the Fleet Marine Force include Operations Officer, 3d Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment; Regional Planner I MEF G-5; Lead Plans Officer Regional Command Southwest/I MEF (FWD) G-3/5; and Assistant Chief of Staff G-3, U.S. Marine Forces Pacific.  He deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.  Other assignments include Series Commander, Company Executive Officer, and Battalion Operations Officer, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island; Platoon Commander, Officer Candidates School; Infantry Advocate/ Occupational Field Sponsor, Ground Combat Element Branch, Plans, Policies, and Operations, Headquarters Marine Corps; Branch Head, Global Force Management Division, Joint Staff J-35; Faculty Advisor, Marine Corps Command and Staff College; and Director, Marine Corps Command and Staff College. 

He is a graduate of Expeditionary Warfare School, Marine Corps Command and Staff College, the School of Advanced Warfighting, and the National War College. He holds Masters in both Military Studies and Operational Studies from Marine Corps University and a Masters in National Security Strategy from National Defense University.  Colonel Tippett assumed command of the Naval ROTC Unit at Texas A&M in July 2023.
