Samantha Waltz ’19

July 23, 2021 by amy.thompson

Back

Samantha Waltz ’19 is a sociology major from Vancouver, Washington.  She is the daughter of Kristina and Thomas Waltz and is currently serving as the Vice Wing Commander for Texas A&M’s Air Force detachment.

Although an active member of Squadron 2, Samantha has an extensive amount of off the Quad involvement as well. She was in the national qualifying Texas A&M Rugby team her freshman and sophomore year. Samantha also plays intramural soccer with SQ-2 every spring and has just been accepted into Aggie Babes, a female service organization on campus.

Samantha also works as a suite attendant for Levy Restaurants in Kyle Field. She specifically serves Robin ’76 and Bob Starnes ’72, a pair of former Aggies who have generously donated to A&M, specifically to the Mays Business School. Their suite also hosts the Commandant for the Corps of Cadets, General Ramirez.

Upon graduation in May 2019, Samantha will commission into the United States Air Force as a pilot.  She will attend pilot training following graduation and will serve a 10 year minimum contract. Samantha’s dream is to fly cargo planes out of Hawaii, then retire as a commercial pilot to Portland, Oregon to raise a family.

Samantha is a hard working cadet with a diverse set of skills. I know she will make us proud in the years to come. Best of luck, Samantha!
