
Robert H. Allen earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M in 1950 and then attended the South Texas College of Law. He was a Certified Public Accountant and was instrumental in the start-up of several natural resource companies, including Getty Resources Ltd. He built Gulf Resources and Chemical Corporation from 1957 to 1982 as CEO, Director, and Board Chairman into a major U.S. company. He was the Managing Partner of Challenge Investment Partners. In 1995, Mr. Allen was appointed by the Texas Governor to the Texas A&M University Board of Regents and served a six-year term. He also served as Board Chairman of the University of Texas Investment Company, Chairman of Gulf Resources LTD., and the Baylor College of Medicine. Mr. Allen was also a member of Texas A&M’s Advisory Board of the George Bush School and the Development Council of Mays Business School. Mr. Allen was a longtime member of the Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets Association.
