Back

Nicholas “Nick” Richter is a double major in Forensic and Investigative Sciences and Entomology from Texarkana, Texas. Nick is the son of Drs. Greg (’86) and Sharon Richter. Nick has one sister, Ali, who is a sophomore at A&M.

Nick is a member of Squadron 17, “Challenger 17,” and currently serves as a Platoon Leader and the Public Relations Officer. He has served as the Public Relations Corporal, an Assistant Squad Leader, and the Public Relations Sergeant as well as Platoon Sergeant. The summer after his sophomore year, Nick participated in the Corps Global Excursion to South Africa, an experience he will “always appreciate and remember fondly.” As a junior, Nick was inducted into the Ross Volunteer Company, and currently serves as the Company’s Administrative Officer as a senior.

Off the Quad, Nick has a great impact at Texas A&M, attempting to have the best Aggie experience possible. As a freshman, he was in the Freshman Leadership Organization (FLO) Memorial Student Center Freshmen in Service and Hosting (MSC Fish). As a sophomore, Nick served as Squadron 17’s Songfest Chair where they partnered with the sorority, Kappa Delta, winning second place and Act’s Favorite and raised money for the Corps’ philanthropy March of Dimes. He also traveled to Lima, Peru on spring break as a Midlife Mobile Clinic volunteer, and volunteered as a Big Event Staff Assistant in the spring. As a junior, Nick served on a Student Body President Campaign team, and was part of the Department of Entomology Scholars Society. The last three summers, he has also served as a Fish Camp counselor, something that Nick sees as “an amazing opportunity to give back to each incoming freshman class and meet some great people along the way.”

Nick is a Drill and Ceremonies cadet who hopes to attend medical school after graduating from Texas A&M in May of 2019. Nick hopes to receive an Air Force Health Professional Scholarship Program medical school scholarship, and after residency, serve as a physician in the Air Force. After medical school and his time in the Air Force, Nick hopes to pursue medical mission work for several years before returning to Texas to settle down and enter into a private practice.

It has been an honor for Texas A&M Corps of Cadets to have included Nick within its family. We are proud of what he’s accomplished thus far and are excited to support him along the way in the future!
