July 23, 2021 by amy.thompson

Back

Matthew Hill ’19 is originally from Clifton, Virginia, but now lives in Spring, Texas. His parents are Colonel Douglas Hill from Ohio and Linda (Schultz) Hill from Texas. He is a biology major with a love for science and any kind of animal.  After spending his first year as a non-reg, Matthew joined Squadron 23. He served as the 1st Sergeant his Junior year and now serves as the 1st Wing Commander.  He is also a Tree Platoon Squad Leader in the Ross Volunteer Company.

Matthew participated in the Corps Excursion to England and France this past May.  During the spring of his junior year, he attended the Citadel’s Leadership Symposium. Off the Quad, Matthew has been a member of L3C (a Leadership, Learning, Living Community) and Delta Epsilon Mu, a Co-ed Pre-health society. He has also been a Group Leader for John 15 and a member of the Brothers of Saint Joseph.

After graduation in May, Matthew will commission into the United States Air Force and attend pilot training.  Matthew is extremely thankful that he has been given the opportunity to give back to his country.  We are proud of Matthew’s accomplishments and know that he has a bright future ahead of him.
