Back

Joshua Sweet ‘18 is an international studies major on the politics and diplomacy track with a minor in Chinese.  He is the son of James and Lorna Sweet and was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii.Currently, Joshua serves as Squadron 3 Executive Officer.  He previously served as a Platoon Sergeant, Operations Sergeant, Team Leader and Operations Corporal.  Joshua serves as the assistant captain for the Corps Lacrosse Team, a team he has been a member of since his fish year. He is also a member of the OR Simpson Honor Society. His sophomore year, Joshua was awarded most outstanding sophomore in his unit and major unit.

Off the Quad, Joshua has been a member of the Texas A&M Student Senate, serving on the Rules and Regulations Committee. His junior year, Joshua worked with different organizations on campus to promote diversity and inclusivity on the diversity commission.

In summer 2017, Joshua received a Project Global Officer Scholarship through the Department of Defense to China.  Joshua also attended the International Studies  201 Excursion to Hong Kong during spring break 2017.Joshua will graduate in May, commission into the Air Force and begin pilot training in Del Rio, Texas.  He hopes to attend the Bush School of Government and Public Service in the future and obtain a Masters Degree in International Affairs. Joshua has made the most of his time as a cadet—always looking to broaden his horizons and lend a helping hand. Joshua has made us proud over the past four years and I know he will continue to make us proud in the years to come. Best wishes to Joshua as he begins a new chapter in his life with the United States Air Force!
