Back

Dana Joan Tiedemann ’18 is a History major with a minor in Creative Studies from Bryan, Texas. She is the daughter of Dwight and Sharon Tiedemann. She is the single mother of Alyssa Faith ’37.

Dana serves as the V-1 Company Commander and has also held the positions of scholastics sergeant, finance sergeant, accountability sergeant and scholastics corporal.  She is also an active member of the O.R. Simpson Honor Society.“Being the Commanding Officer of an outfit to me means learning to care more about others success than your own,” Dana says.  “Watching my freshmen and other underclassmen learn, and step into their roles is one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Being able to be a part of training the next generation of V-1 Vipers makes every day, every struggle, worth it.”

Dana was selected for a 2017 Corps Excursion to South Africa where she was able to learn about the diplomatic, military and economic ties between the two countries. She has also traveled to New York City, the Netherlands, and France for her minor to experience creativity in different forms. Off the Quad, Dana is an active member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. Dana also had the opportunity to intern for the Bryan Police Department during the Summer of 2017.Upon graduation, Dana plans to return to Law Enforcement and become a Police Officer, hopefully with the Bryan Police Department. She would eventually like to become a detective with the Criminal Investigations Division. Dana is the definition of the word “determined.” She is an exceptional cadet and a role model for her peers during her time in the Corps. I know she will continue to be successful and make us proud. Best wishes, Dana!
