Ben Stanish ’20

July 23, 2021 by amy.thompson

Back

Ben Stanish ‘20 is a Civil Engineering major from Eldora, Iowa. He is a member of A-Battery in the Aggie Band.

As a sophomore, Ben served as an outfit clerk, running finances and organizing information systems for the unit.  During his junior year he served as the 2nd Platoon Sergeant where he was responsible for the accountability of his cadets at events, as well as designing and leading physical training plans. Ben currently serves as the Platoon Leader of Second Platoon, The Rough Riders, in A-Battery.  He is also involved with the Texas A&M’s National Scholar Ambassadors. The group assists the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid by creating a student-focused experience for potential, current, and former National Scholars, and their families.  Ben is a National Merit Scholar and a Class of 2020 Brown Scholar.

Ben has the privilege of setting the vision and environment for the platoon this year, as well as planning and executing workouts and other activities. He shared that he looks forward to being able to focus more on getting to know cadets better and forming relationships that will last for years to come! Ben will graduate in May of 2021 and plans to pursue either a Master’s Degree in his field or a career with a Civil Engineering firm in Texas.  We are incredibly proud of Ben and are confident that he will continue to set the standard in all that he does in the future. Best of luck to Ben in all of his future endeavors! Gig ‘em, Ben!
