Audrey Mayes ’20

July 23, 2021 by amy.thompson

Back

Audrey Mayes is a senior from the small town of Sutherland Springs, Texas. After visiting several universities as an incoming freshman, Texas A&M won Audrey’s heart when she spent the night with the Corps. Coming from a military family, the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than herself cinched her commitment to becoming an Aggie.

Audrey has held many positions within the Corps to exercise and grow in her leadership abilities while encouraging her fellow cadets to do so as well. In her junior year, Audrey was the Public Relations Sergeant for Second Regiment. She now serves as their Major Unit Executive Officer. She is also the Administrative Officer for the Ross Volunteer Company. Outside of her Corps and school commitments, she enjoys working for the Corps of Cadets Marketing and Media Office, hunting, hiking, and other outdoor activities.

Audrey recently returned from her two-month study abroad program in Tuscany, Italy studying Italian opera and European history. In the spring of 2020, Audrey will obtain her bachelor’s degree in Architecture with a concentration in Historic Preservation and Creative Studies. After graduation, Audrey plans to further her education by attending graduate school in order to obtain her master’s degree in Public Relations.

We are proud of the way Audrey has honored her commitment and dedication to the Corps of Cadets, and have no doubt that she will succeed in her future endeavors! We wish her nothing but success and the best of luck in the future! Gig’em, Audrey!
