Ryan J. Bindel ‘18 is a Biomedical Sciences major from Mansfield, TX. He is the eldest son of Danny and Valerie Bindel. He has two brothers, a freshman at the University of Notre Dame and another in the 8th grade.
Ryan, originally from Company G-2, currently serves as the 1st Regiment Commander. During his junior year, he served as 1st Regiment Sergeant Major and was an active member in the Ross Volunteer Company. He has been involved in numerous Corps organizations and activities as a cadet, including the O.R. Simpson Honor Society, Corps Triathlon and Marathon teams. Ryan attended the Nichols Rising Leaders conference as a sophomore, Virginia Military Institute’s Annual Leadership Conference and participated in the Corps International Excursion to Israel in 2016.
Off the quad, Ryan is involved in St Mary’s Catholic Church in a variety of organizations, including John 15 and Brothers of St Joseph’s. Last year, Ryan was selected as a Texas A&M Foundation Maroon Coat, acting as an ambassador for the University to donors and Former Students.
Upon graduation in May 2018, Ryan will commission into the United States Navy to attend Naval Nuclear Power School and become a Submarine officer. After completing his service requirement, he plans to attend medical school. Ryan’s energetic attitude and determination have proven very successful in the Corps of Cadets, and I have no doubt that they will prove to be successful in the years to come for him. WE are very proud of Ryan and all that he has accomplished as a member of the Corps, and look forward to seeing him achieve even greater success in the future – both as a Naval Officer and as a future Doctor! Best wishes, Ryan!
