Royya Osouli ‘21 is an International Studies and Spanish double major from San Antonio, Texas. She is the daughter of Ann Buonocore and Rasoul Osouli. Royya began her Corps experience in Squadron 6 but she is excited for the opportunity to serve as the Commanding Officer in Squadron 1 this year.
Royya was a member of the Fish Drill Team, an Air Force ROTC Special Tactics Squadron leader, the Squadron 6 First Sergeant, and a Ross Volunteer. Off the Quad, she is a Strength and Conditioning Room Attendant at the Student Recreation Center, as well as a Teaching Assistant for an International Studies course in the Liberal Arts Department. Royya has excelled academically, and is a member of the Cornerstone Liberal Arts and International Studies Honors programs.
Royya will graduate in May 2021 with the hopes of joining the Peace Corps to serve as an education volunteer in Africa while working towards her Teaching English Internationally (TEFL) certificate. After her time in the Peace Corps, Royya would like to pursue a degree in law to work as an immigration lawyer and one day become a congresswoman.
Royya says her favorite part of the Corps has been the opportunity to make friendships that will last a lifetime beyond the Quad. She has been an incredible cadet and we are thankful for her contributions in the Corps. We wish her nothing but success in the future.
