Joni Taylor ’17 is an International Studies major (International Politics and Diplomacy focusing on the Middle East) with an Arabic Studies and Military Studies minor. She is also working toward a Graduate Certificate in Advanced International Affairs. She is the daughter of John and Terri Taylor and is from Dayton, Maryland.

Joni is serving as the Corps Operation and Logistics Officer this year. She is also a Corps Housing Officer, and Student Grader for the International Studies Department. Joni studied abroad for 10 weeks in Amman, Jordan this past summer with Project Global Officer (Project GO), researching the Syrian Refugee Crisis. She is an active member of the Arabic Club, the Arnold Air Society, and the O.R. Simpson Honor Society.

She is extremely busy off the quad participating in several volunteer programs such as SafeKids of Howard County, MD, and SafeKids of Greater, Houston. SafeKids is a non-profit organization that educates the public about life safety for children under the age of 14. Joni is also a Volunteer Fire Fighter and EMT with the Fifth District Volunteer Fire Department back home in Maryland. In her free time, Joni enjoys dancing (ballroom, Latin, ballet, lyrical) and spending time with her friends.

Joni will commission in the United States Air Force in May of 2017 and is seeking to become an Air Force Intelligence Officer. Joni is an exceptional leader and selfless servant, both in the Corps of Cadets and in the community. She exemplifies the core values of the Corps of Cadets and Texas A&M University, leads by example, and represents the very best that our Corps and our University have to offer. I have no doubt that Joni will go on to great success in the Air Force and in all that she undertakes in the future! Truly one of our very best!
