He “Chris” Cai ’14 is a Food Science and Technology major from Nanjing, China. She came to the United States three years ago and is the daughter of Zhengjian Cai and Chaojing Wang. Chris serves as the Scholastic Officer in Company C-1, and the Executive Officer of the General O.R. Simpson Corps Honor Society for the 2013 – 2014 school year

Active within the Corps, Chris was highly involved in the Summer Recruiting Company, especially assisting and helping her fellow international students in the Corps. Chris was the Scholastic Sergeant in Company F-1 her junior year, and also served as the Public Relations/Personnel Sergeant for the General O.R. Simpson Corps Honor Society.

Outside the Corps, Chris is currently serving as the president of the Institute of Food Technology Student Association, Texas A&M Chapter – part of the largest and most important community of students studying food science. She is a student worker in the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and also a Help Session Leader in the Math Department. Because of her academic excellence and leadership experience, Chris was selected to receive the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Senior Merit Award this year.

After completing her final year in the Corps, Chris will travel to Italy in May for a Nutrition and Food Processing Study Abroad Program. In July, she will complete a highly-competitive Product Development Internship with the Kellogg Company in Battle Creek, Michigan before graduating from Texas A&M in the Spring of 2015.

Chris has excelled in her studies and put herself in the position to take part in two prestigious opportunities in Italy and Michigan. It is no surprise to anyone who knows her that she was selected to receive the Senior Merit Award this year. Chris is a superb student and cadet, I have no doubt that she will excel in her professional endeavors in the Food Science and Technology industry. We’re very proud of Chris and her accomplishments and aspirations!
