Crystal Perez ’14 is a Biology major with minors in English and History from San Isidro, Texas. She is the daughter of Joe and Yong Perez.

Active within the Corps, Crystal is a member of the Corps Women’s Basketball Team and the Cadet Performance Review Board. She served in the Darling Recruiting Company, as the Boot Dance Co-Chair and participated in the Nichols Rising Leadership Conference. Crystal served as a Delegate for the Air Force Academy’s National Character and Leadership Symposium in February and will travel to China and Taiwan as part of the May 2013 Corps Excursion.

Outside the Corps, Crystal is a member of the Starlight Aggies, CHARGErs and the Pre-Med Society. She served as Roundtable Host at the MSC Student Conference on National Affairs hosted by SCONA and participated in the Spring Leadership Exchange Program with Texas A&M Qatar. Crystal volunteers at St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan in the Pediatric and Critical Care Units as well as the Emergency Room.

Crystal was recently selected as the Chief of Staff for the Corps of Cadets for the 2013 – 2014 school year and will travel to Costa Rica this summer to conduct ecological research in freshwater consumers with the Study Abroad Program at Texas A&M.

Upon graduation, Crystal plans to attend medical school with aspirations of becoming a pediatric oncologist or general practitioner. She also plans to work internationally with countries whose healthcare systems are underdeveloped to provide better medical care.

Crystal has utilized her experiences with the Corps of Cadets and Texas A&M to assist her in reaching her goals. I am very proud of her and wish her well in all of her future endeavors! She is no doubt going to make her mark on the world!
