An update from Brigadier General Joe E. Ramirez, Jr., Commandant, regarding the Corps of Cadets return for the spring semester

In accordance with Texas A&M University guidance, all students returning to campus dorms for the spring 2021 semester are required to complete a COVID-19 screening and take a COVID-19 test. All cadets will complete a COVID-19 test upon their return to campus, PRIOR to checking into the dorms. Cadets MUST complete the COVID-19 test regardless of past COVID-19 status. The Texas A&M School of Public Health will conduct all cadet COVID-19 testing on the west side of Duncan Dining Hall on January 14th and 15th. Cadets will not be allowed to access the dorms until they have checked in and completed the COVID-19 test.

Cadets will check in and test based on times assigned to major units on January 14th and 15th.  Cadets are ONLY allowed to check in and test during their assigned major unit time, unless otherwise approved by the Assistant Commandant for Operations & Training, LtCol John Fleming (979.862.4311) . Cadets MUST register for an appointment time using this link. This link will take cadets to the survey that MUST be completed prior to reporting for the COVID-19 test. The major unit testing schedule can be seen to the right.

If any cadet has a fever, is exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms, or has been a first person contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 10 days, they should NOT return to campus. Instead, those cadets should remain at home, get tested and await test results at home before returning to campus.

As a reminder, all students are also required to complete the COVID-19 Training and Certification in their Howdy portal by January 13th. Cadets must also meet Corps grooming standards when they report to campus and complete their COVID-19 test prior to checking into the dorms.

We look forward to the start of the spring semester, and welcoming back our cadets to the Corps of Cadets. We also look forward to conducting all cadet activities as safely as possible in a COVID-19 environment. We urge all cadets to travel safely as they return to campus. Beat the Hell Outta COVID-19!
