The Corps continues to place a strong emphasis on academics, and the results speak for themselves. The cadets posted a fall 2017 term overall GPA of 3.03! Over half of the cadets (59%) posted a GPA of 3.0 or better, and 216 cadets posted a perfect 4.0 GPA. Corps freshmen outperformed their University counterparts by a wide margin as well. In spring 2018, the Corps posted a term overall GPA of 3.08. This year marks the fifth consecutive semester that the Corps has posted an overall GPA at or above 3.0. Once again, more than half of the cadets (61%) posted a GPA of 3.0 or better, and 217 cadets posted a perfect 4.0 GPA. The spring Corps term and overall GPAs are the highest on record for the Corps of Cadets.
It was a very successful year for our cadets, highlighting that Academics is still our number one priority, and our efforts are producing excellent results. We understand the importance of academic success to employers and this year we increased efforts in academic support sponsored by the Office of the Commandant and worked closely with the colleges to help our cadets succeed academically. For example, we worked very closely with the College of Engineering and the Mays Business School to enhance the educational experience of our students. Our cadets continue to excel academically and prove that students at Texas A&M can achieve academic excellence as members of the Corps of Cadets.
