Colonel Stebbins graduated from Texas A&M University in December 1978 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. Colonel Stebbins held a variety of positions within aviation logistics during his 30 years in the Marine Corps. In 1994 during his tour at Headquarters, Marine Corps he was selected as the Marine Corps Aviation Association’s Aviation Ground Officer of the Year. Colonel Stebbins received a Master of Science Degree in Management from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California where he studied Material Logistics. In 1996 he received a second Master’s Degree from the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.
Colonel Stebbins commanded at both the squadron and group level during his career in the Marine Corps. His final assignment was as Chief of Staff, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, and he served in that position until July 2008. Colonel Stebbins retired from active duty after serving 30 years in the United States Marine Corps.
Colonel Stebbins joined the Commandant’s Staff at Texas A&M University in August 2008, as a Cadet Training Officer for the Corps of Cadet’s First and Second Wings. In July 2009 Colonel Stebbins assumed duties as the Assistant Commandant for Operations and Training. In July of 2012 he assumed duties as the Deputy Commandant and Chief of Staff.
