Marco Benitez ’16

Marco Benitez ’16 is an International Studies major with an emphasis in Economics and Arabic Studies from Miami, Florida. A first-generation American and Aggie, Marco is the son of Dr. Marco Benitez and Barbara Andre. He served as the 1st Regiment Training, Operations, and Logistics Officer for the 2015-2016 school year.

Active within the Corps, Marco was originally in Company S-1, where he spent his first three years serving as a Fire Team Leader, Platoon Sergeant, and Training Sergeant.

In the summer of 2015, Marco was selected for a Project Global Officer Scholarship to study Arabic and Middle Eastern culture and politics in Morocco.

In addition to his responsibilities in 1st Regiment, Marco also served in the Darling Recruiting Company, and was a member of the General Moore inspection team. Outside the Corps, Marco was a member of the Student Conference on National Affairs (SCONA), where he was a member of the programming sub-committee.

Upon graduation, Marco will commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army, where he will serve as an Armor officer with the goal of transferring to Military Intelligence.

Marco is a superb leader who will go on to do very well in the United States Army. I know he will continue his superb dedication to excellence as he continues his new life as an Army Lieutenant. We are all very proud of Marco and fully expect that he is going to make all of us very proud in all that he does in the future.
